RICO the Horse needs a home
Rico is a young Paso Fino gelding. He came to Longmeadow as a yearling stud colt. He was an owner surrender and well cared for but he wasn''t very easy to handle. After groundwork training at the ranch he has come around to being handled, having the farrier handle his hooves and we are working on lots of desensitizing. He can be startled easily in new situations but he is learning. He''s a smart guy.
Once he''s old enough he can start training for riding. We require that a professional resistance-free trainer is used to start him. He will be a great gaited trail horse for someone and in the meantime he can work on his groundwork skills.
He also will need to go to a home with another horse to be a companion. He is not used to living alone and as a young horse we think he needs companionship from another horse or small herd.
